Strategy, Discovery and Design
We work with you to identify constituencies and audiences for your website and develop effective navigation and information architecture to meet their needs. We will help you select appropriate technologies for your site and suggest content and design elements that meet best practice guidelines for online advocacy and communication.
Radical Designs will integrate graphical design elements and an information architecture plan to help you create a seamless integrated website. We will work with you to build an information design that represents the mission and goals of your organization and helps visitors to your site intuitively navigate and engage with your organization. We will work with one of our talented graphic design partners or a graphic designer of your choice to implement a templated and flexible web site that uses cross browsers compatible and accessible HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to display your site.
Our Web Development Process
We follow a process to ensure that your online presence meets your organizational goals. We begin with an in-depth discovery process to identify your website users and develop a site map and list of technical requirements. After we figure out how your website should work, we collaborate with graphic designers to develop a look and feel for your site. Then we train you to use the CMS, program the site functionality, populate it with content and prepare it for launch. Details of our process are outlined below:
Discovery Process
We will work with you to develop the following documents
• Audience Definitions and Pathways – this document will identify all of the
audiences of your website including the content they are looking for, the online
engagement goal your organization has for each audience and your audience
navigation pathways and priorities.
• Global Sitemap – this document will define the global navigation for the site
including main structural sections, core content pages and ways that content will
be cross linked and posted.
• Current Site Content Inventory – We will work with you to develop an inventory of all of the current content on your site and identify what content will need to be moved and to where within your new information architecture.
• Design Element Specifications – this document will outline the different elements that will need to appear on the front page and inside page design templates. The functionality of these elements will be described and have ranked according to user priorities and pathways.
• Custom Development Specifications – we will outline technical specification for all custom development on the site including forms, specialized databases, custom navigation, custom sectional list pages, CMS module integration and
customization, 3rd party tool integration and any other specialized application
development.
At the end of the discovery process we will provide you with a final estimate for the project and help you prioritize the features that we have identified so that the project can stay within your organizational budget.
